Greece

The Italian influence extended to the Greek island of Corfu (no. 78), which was ruled by Venice from 1386 until 1797. Two examples from the Northern Greek city of loannina (nos. 79 and 80), a leading center of the Greek Romaniot community, famous for its exceptional silverware, are more akin to the less elaborate styles of the Balkan area and further east.
